Truck version of Jeep Wrangler is Coming Says Source

Back in the day, Jeep made a couple different truck models. Fans of the Wrangler have been clamoring for a truck version of that iconic Jeep model and it looks like Jeep is finally going to make it. Word is that a new Jeep truck will be made at the Ohio factory that is losing Cherokee production.

The Wrangler will continue in production for now with a new version of the popular off-roader expected to land in 2018. Jeep is expected to move the assembly of the Cherokee to Michigan, but the exact location is unconfirmed. Sources at FCA, the parent company of Jeep, have confirmed the Jeep truck is coming, but no time frame was offered.

Many hope that the Jeep Truck won’t be a new design, but will add a truck bed to the existing Wrangler. Jeep stopped production of the Gladiator truck back in 1988. The Comanche truck ended production in 1996. FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne told Ohio Jeep plat management, “We found a solution that accommodates a variety of other interests to us because of the way in which we can move some product around.”
